Christmas party menu tasting at the Blackdog Ballroom NSW Manchester

Back in the summer we hosted our works summer party at the Blackdog ballroom NSW, the roof terrace was such a great venue location, close to town with a nice outdoor space, providing the weather was good which thankfully it was. Karaoke, outdoor space and burgers, when it comes to a Christmas party what more could you ask for? How about Crackers, Christmas cocktails, and pigs in blankets? Well The Blackdog Ballroom NSW doesn’t disappoint this Christmas.

I was invited to try out the new Christmas menu which is on offer for all Christmas parties at the NSW venue.

We walked up to the roof terrace which was fully decked out for Christmas with a beautiful Christmas tree, tinsel and candles. It’s the first time which I have felt festive all year, even more festive when I was handed a Mrs Claus cocktail. The music was tasteful with none of the usual cheesy songs which instantly come to mind.

We were treated to taste samples of the whole Festive menu. Being on the committee at work dedicated to organising the Christmas party, i know how expensive the menus at this time of year can sometimes be. The buffet menus start at £9 per person going up in price with different options to £15. Having looked at many Christmas menus and seeing the amount of food we got I would say the price per person was very reasonable. There was a great selection of festive sliders and pizzas. The cherry on the buffet plate had to be the mini pigs in blankets which were cooked in a maple glaze. Vegetarians were also catered for with Nachos and Chickpea sliders. The beauty of the NSW venue is the BBQ menu, we got to sample a few of these items and the stand out item for me was the grilled corn on the cob which had a smoky glaze smothered over it. Whilst not essentially a christmassy choice on the menu it was probably my favourite food item of the night.
